Dogcation Training Camp Service Agreement

This Service Agreement ("Agreement") is made between Smith Rock K9 LLC ("Trainer") and the undersigned dog Client ("Client") for the provision of services for the Client’s dog ("Dog").


Program Name: Dogcation Training Camp

Program Duration: up to 6 Months

Frequency: We guarantee a minimum of 2 hours of personalized, professional dog training per day that the dog is boarded with us. The value to the dogs is much greater than 2 hours of benefit, however, because the dogs will be fully immersed in a training environment. The dogs will experience supervised socialization with humans and other pets in our home 24/7.


This service agreement ends 5 months after the start date. 


Itinerary:

Four 4-Day Board and Train Weekends 

6 Private Training Sessions (at least 1 session must be used after the final Board and Train visit to constitute Owner Training)

Training Location: Trainer’s home and in various settings around town and in nature


Definition of Terms:

Trainer: A person on the staff of Smith Rock K9. 

Client: One person in the family chosen to act as the dog’s trainer for training sessions with Smith Rock K9.

Board and Train: Dog lives in the home of the trainer and is immersed in supervised daily life with the trainer’s family and pets. Structured training is provided to achieve training goals outlined in this agreement.

Owner Training: Client and trainer work together in person until the Client is comfortable managing the dog’s obedience. Sessions are generally 1-2 hours a day.

Services Provided:


Outline of Methods Used and Expected Outcomes:

Focus on engagement, self-control, and reduced reactivity.

Broaden the dog’s horizons and increase ability to focus in all settings.

We commit to achieving 90% of the behaviors below. If additional time is needed to achieve 100% completion we will provide the Client with 7 days notice. In the vast majority of cases, the dog will only require 1 week additional training. 


  • Dogs 4 Months and Younger: Positive Reinforcement only.

  • Dogs 5 Months and Older: Positive Reinforcement and e-collar training conditioning.

Materials or Equipment Provided by the Trainer for the Duration of the Program:

  • Prong collar

  • Long line

  • Leashes of various sizes

  • Crate

  • Head collar

  • Harness


Client Must Provide:

  • Training treats

  • Food for 30 Days

  • Dog collar with ID tags

  • Dog boots for hot weather

  • Mini Educator E-Collar (unless dog is under 5 months)

  • Any necessary medication


Recommended -

  • Dog is microchipped

  • Fi Collar for GPS dog tracking

  • Pet’s Best Pet Insurance

Client Responsibilities for a 30-Day Board and Train

Initial Information:

  • Provide detailed, accurate information about the dog's behavior, history, diet, health, and any specific issues or goals in initial phone consults and in-person evaluation.

  • Be honest and open about any known aggressive behaviors or triggers.


Documentation and Health Requirements:

  • Complete the dog behavior intake form at least 7 days before the first session.

  • Complete the health history intake form at least 7 days before the first session.

  • Client must sign and agree to our cancellation policy at the time of booking. Please familiarize yourself with our policies immediately upon signing up for ease of communication for both parties. 

  • Client must sign and agree to our liability waiver at the time of booking.

  • Ensure the dog is up-to-date on vaccinations and provide proof.


Program Logistics:

  • Bring the dog to the trainer on the day the program starts. Be punctual.

  • Choose reliable dates and times to be present and actively participate in Owner Training Week.

  • Provide a safe and conducive environment for training when sessions are held at the Client’s home.

  • Take the dog home on the last day of the Owner Training Week.


Training Participation:

  • Follow the trainer’s instructions and continue training exercises at home after the program.

  • Attend any scheduled follow-up sessions or training classes.


Communication:

  • Maintain regular communication with the trainer for updates and progress reports.

  • Be available for consultation calls or meetings as needed.


Emergency Preparedness:

  • Provide emergency contact information and instructions for handling any emergencies.


Agreement Compliance:

  • Adhere to the terms of the training agreement, including payment schedules and policies.

Trainer Responsibilities for a 30-Day Board and Train


  1. Initial Assessment:

    • Conduct a thorough evaluation of the dog’s behavior and create a personalized training plan.

  2. Training Sessions:

    • Implement a structured training regimen tailored to the dog's needs and goals.

    • Utilize positive reinforcement techniques and e-collar training and maintain consistency.

  3. Progress Updates:

    • Provide daily updates to the Client, including photos, videos, and progress reports.

    • Updates will include training process, including techniques used and progress made.

    • Be available for questions and provide clear communication about the dog’s progress (limit of 10 minutes per day except on Client training week)

  4. Health and Safety:

    • Ensure the dog’s well-being by providing water, Client-supplied food, medications, and a safe environment.

    • Monitor the dog’s health and address any issues promptly.

  5. Behavioral Modification:

    • Address specific behavioral issues, such as aggression, anxiety, or obedience training as outlined in this agreement.

  6. Socialization:

    • Facilitate appropriate socialization with other dogs and people as part of the training.

  7. Follow-Up Support:

    • Provide a detailed training plan for the Client to continue at home.

  8. Cleanliness:

    • Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for the dog during the training period.

  9. Emergency Protocol:

    • Be prepared to contact the Client or a veterinarian as needed in an emergency and provide emergency transport for the dog.

Fees and Payment:

Total Fee Program: $4,400

Payment Schedule: $1100 upon drop off for each Board and Train weekend

Payment Forms: Cash or check. Credit cards subject to 2.9% processing fee.

*All sessions must be completed within 5 months of purchase date

Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Trainer from any claims arising from the dog’s participation, regardless of gross negligence.
