Service Agreement for Combo Training

Program Name: Combo Training - 5 Week Training Walk / Private Training Series


Program Duration: 5 weeks

Frequency: 1 hour-long private training walk per week plus 1 hour-long private training session with the client. Total of 10 hours, comprising 5 training walks and 5 private training sessions.

This service agreement ends 5 weeks after the start date. 1 Reschedule is accommodated, in which case the service agreement may end 6 weeks after the start date. A training walk may also be substituted for a private training session when a request is made in writing.

Training Location: Client’s home/neighborhood. In some cases, the trainer may suggest meeting at a park or another location.


Definition of Terms:

Trainer: A person on the staff of Smith Rock K9. 

Client: One person in the family chosen to act as the dog’s trainer for training sessions with Smith Rock K9.

Training Walk: Trainer provides exercise and training for 1 hour. Client can choose to emphasize either mental stimulation or physical exercise, but we will work on both. 

Private Training: Client and trainer work together in person for 1 hour. Client learns the skills to help dog with basic obedience.


Services Provided:

Focus on engagement and beginnings of self-control.

Broadening the dog’s horizons and starting to build focus.

Client will choose 2 behaviors per 5-week set to focus on from the list below.

Dogs 4 Months and Younger: Positive Reinforcement only.

Dogs 5 Months and Older: Positive Reinforcement and e-collar training as needed. Vast majority of e-collar cases are referred to Day Training or 30 Day Board and Train.

Materials or Equipment Provided by the Trainer:

Client Must Provide:

Training treats

Small bag of kibble

Dog collar with ID tags

Dog boots for hot weather

Dog is microchipped (recommended)

Mini Educator brand E-collar on request

Harness on request

Prong collar on request

Halti on request


Client Responsibilities:

Complete the dog behavior intake form before the first session.

Complete the health history intake form before the first session.

Provide accurate information about the dog’s behavior, health, and dietary needs.

Ensure the dog is available and ready for each scheduled session.

Follow the trainer’s instructions and continue training exercises between sessions.

Provide a safe and conducive environment for training when sessions are held at the client’s home.

Choose a reliable day and time for the training walks

Choose a reliable day and time to be present for private training sessions.


Trainer Responsibilities:

Provide training to the best of their ability based on the agreed goals.

Communicate progress updates with the client regularly via text or email.


Cancellation, Refund, and Rescheduling Policy:

Client must agree to our cancellation policy at the time of booking. Please familiarize yourself with our policies immediately upon signing up for ease of communication for both parties.


Liability Waiver:

Client must sign and agree to our liability waiver before the first session.


Fees and Payment:

Total Fee for 5-week Program: $1,500

Deposit Amount: $750

Remaining Balance: $750

Payment Schedule: Deposit due upon booking. Remaining balance due on the day of the first session.
